Arrowhead Road

Today's exerpt from my novel, Arrowhead Road Enjoy!

Her face showed nothing; the only sign of life was a certain flicker of an eyelash burning inside her heart.
She and her boss are in a state of hate in which no one has endured.
Inside the office at night is a microcosm where names fill file cabinets, where, window blinds seep with neon, where young girls sit at desks, girls who have seen the endless expanse of farmland, who have given away their childhood and now, thinking adult thoughts, can never go home. Their loneliness on their father's farm has gotten them this far. They are young and beautiful. They are willing to work in the dim light of obscurity, hoping.

Lamplight Music

Arrowhead Road

Aloha, Here is the latest from my novel, Arrowhead Road. Enjoy!

The fear is always there, pulsing, and her times of relaxation, whether short or long, always seem temporary.
At times, the phobia only takes her to a darker place, for a few hours or days, then nothing. Sometimes it visits her at night and she herself rises to meet it.

Tropical Beauty

Aloha Poets,
Color inspires today's writing. Enloy!

Walk Out There

Close-eyed fury shadowy trail
Desolate nature please don't fail
Be portrayed in a serious way
Say the right things to me today

Organise a retrospective beauty
From the inside of freedom's duty
Chafe under the dutiful constraint
Walk out there and just paint

Invisibility in art's underworld
Fiercely guard all manner of word
Display your art in all possible manor
Walk out there and show your clamor

Flower Whale

Aloha Poets,
Flower whale inspires today's poem. Enjoy!

Putter Around

Hectic strikes with to-do lists
People of places bring their bliss
Battles fought so wars are won
Amidst the still of the setting sun

Hold yourself find your still
Sanity thunder strikes at will
Satisfy those armies of crucial need
Those certifiable needs to bleed

Daybreak calls with no bell to ring
Outside there is a world shining
Wake up calls before the fray
Putter around the world at bay

Busy bodies useless task
See the sunrise be the last
Be nice to yourself be the one to care
Oasis of calm putter yourself there

Inspirational Cat

Aloha Poets,
Rozzy's sleepy photo inspires today's poem. Enjoy!

Degree of Possibility

Lax discipline with complacency
Backs all findings of discrepancy
Overshouting in a market of charms
Reposes together in comfort's arms

Keep me engaged as a monitor
As flight sagas leave the shore
Failures to stay in constant contact
Scrambles a jet gets me back

Automate management with systems
Decimate my whiskers of cat wisdom
Radio in a terse loud response
To my fleeting brush with romance

Too sophisticated and reliable to overshoot
Love means business with a puss and a boot
Going down now without a fight
Degree of possibility take your flight

Halloween Flower Faces

Aloha Poets,
Inquisitive flower faces inspire today's poem. Enjoy!

Strike a Chill

Brutal imagination find your fate
Express yourself with words of weight
Portraits emerge at your own will
Images wait to strike their chill

Unpleasant sticklers pile it on
For rules of logic and beyond
Crawl out the bunker once and for all
Sending the thrill of standing tall

Pound in the facts with no stammer
Keep them in place use your sledge hammer
Infamous slur image your task
Strike a chill then never ask

Tropic Cool Paradox

Aloha Poets,
Cool ocean and palms inspire today's poem. Enjoy!

Stress Paradox

System booster anti-carcinogen
Stress paradox get up again
Enhance the angst don't mess up this chance
To couple my trouble to your little dance

Food safety and shelter's a known community
Where stress dresses up in its immunity
She fights disease by simple meditation
Or taking a cruise Mediterranian

Predator unease feign no relief
All is needed is a little good grief
As alleviation beckons with its little plea
We sail into the storm to find a rough sea

Stress paradox sharpen my knife
Help me hunt and call it a life
Procrastination axe go groove your deep rut
Stress paradox be my shelter hut

Arrowhead Road

Latest exerpt from my novel, Arrowhead Road. Enjoy!

No magic words can bring back my youth, but memory can. You see, time is of the essence, and so is precious life.
Mother was the workhorse of the family. Her childhood during the Great Depression was her saddle. These words describing her life are too important to wait any longer.
She was born Patricia Jean Kerr, 150 years after the birth of America and 100 years after the death of Thomas Jefferson. She is famous to only one person, me.
My thinking has always been influenced by writers, hers by bread lines and soup cups. They say in America a woman can be cast in any role, and yet she herself is driven by her own cast of memories.
Some say the Great Depression started in 1920 with the outlaw of drinking alcohol in America and ended in 1941 with the bombing of Pearl Harbor. She says it started December 22, 1926, the day she was born.
